ABOUT ME

Graphic Designer & Photographer | Salt Lake City, Utah

My name is Miriam Flores, and I’m a Latina graphic designer and photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. My journey into the arts began at a young age, inspired by my uncle, Juan Manuel Cardenas Perez, whose passion for drawing and painting sparked my own. His creativity ignited a lifelong love for art that continues to shape my work today. Since his passing in November 2021, I have dedicated all of my artistic work to his memory.

My creative practice is deeply rooted in community, identity, and justice. Through design and photography, I strive to honor the beauty, strength, and resistance within marginalized communities. Art has given me a voice and a way to process and reflect the world around me — a means to amplify stories that are often unheard or unseen.

My work explores contemporary issues, celebrates cultural resilience, and reflects a commitment to social justice. Whether I’m capturing portraits, designing for local organizations, or creating visual narratives, I aim to make art that uplifts, empowers, and connects.
